William and Robotics Teammates Place 18th at Regionals

2016 Jun 14

On Thursday, March 24th, the LFA robotics team attended the FIRST Robotics Regionals Competition in Wisconsin to compete against 52 teams over a three-day period. The students started building their robot in January and worked through weekends, G-days, and during the Winter Weekend break. Under the guidance of faculty advisers Keith Cameron and Mike Rogan, each team member put in about 97 hours of work, making the total man hour count for the construction process a whopping 1100.

The team ran into a difficulty during the competition when they found that the robot's bumpers did not meet the requirements, but the members pulled together and rebuilt the robot in under 3 hours. The students ultimately placed 18th.
