Sophia Platcow recognized at Move-Up Day

2014 Jun 4

Move-Up Day took place on May 30th in the Formal Gardens at Lake Forest Academy. Students, parents, and faculty all attended the ceremony, which commemorates a successful end to another school year. Students celebrate "moving up" from seniors to alumni, juniors to seniors, sophomores to juniors, and freshmen to sophomores.

Several awards were given out during the ceremony to recognize students who have shown great dedication to keeping the ideals of Lake Forest Academy: character, scholarship, responsibility, and citizenship.

Sophia received the McLaughlin Prize, which is awarded to the sophomore who has best exemplified the spirit and ideals of Lake Forest Academy.

Stephanie Bator, Sophia's advisor, attests to Sophia's great character. "She puts her best effort into nearly every single assignment; she is open about what she struggles with academically, and anxious to improve in those areas -- as well as to continue to improve her strengths. Her commitment to service is truly genuine and she brings happiness to those around her."

Sophia will return to LFA as a junior in the fall.
