Sophia Platcow participates in the 2014 One-Act Festival
2014 Apr 11
The One-Act Festival began on April 10th in the Cressey Center for the Arts at 7 PM. Seven one-act plays were performed. Six acts were directed by seniors and four acts were written by students. More than thirty students participated as actors. Another performance of the one-act plays will take place tonight at 7 PM. Sophia acted in "Emily."
The festival began 10 years ago to let advanced students direct a ten minute play. Typically, one set light is used for the productions. Before each play begins, the directors give a brief introduction. Mr. Dryfoos, the Director of Performing Arts at LFA, describes the festival as "a great opportunity for students to act as a director and show off their work to an audience." He credits the success of the festival to his talented student directors, writers, and actors.
