Nick Lin to Act as Prefect for 2016-2017 School Year

2016 Apr 25

Every spring, a small group of students are chosen for leadership positions by their peers and faculty members for the following school year. In addition to positions in Student Council, rising seniors are given a chance to act as Prefects or Proctors.

Next year, Nick will serve as Prefect.

Nick was selected among an exceptional pool of students who were nominated by faculty. The nominees participated in interviews in mid-April and the Prefects were announced on April 20 during Morning Meeting. Prefects are students who demonstrate an authentic investment and engagement in the LFA community. They work to find ways to improve the community experience for their peers and support and lead community initiatives that advance the school's mission. Individual Prefects are selected to offer additional community support and guidance in the areas of Multiculturalism, Health/Wellness, House Cup and House Cup Activities, and the Discipline Committee. The Prefects work collaboratively with other leadership groups such as Student Council, Proctors and club leaders to support and coordinate events and initiatives. They manage the bi-weekly community meetings; assist with the opening and closing of school, New Family Day, and Multicultural Celebration Day; facilitate Community Dialogues; and coordinate the freshman Peer Mentor Program and Project Pumpkin.

Nick has shown positive signs of leadership and will be an integral part of the LFA community.
