Liana Shallenberg gives back to the community

2015 May 22

On April 23rd, the entire LFA community split into different groups to visit retirement homes, forest preserves, and food banks to participate in a day of service. Students and faculty planted over 2300 trees, packed 34,000 meals, and interacted with senior citizens and elementary school children. Liana went to Bernie's Book Bank to sort books and pack them into boxes.

Sarah Collins, Director of Service Learning, calls the day an immense success. She says, "A big thank you to everyone. There were many accomplishments but what cannot be measured are the smiles, the laughter, and the shared experiences with people."
