Kristine Zengeler inducted into Cum Laude Society

2015 May 28

Kristine and 25 other seniors have been selected to join the prestigious Cum Laude Society. The Cum Laude Society was founded in 1906 by Dr. Abram W. Harris, Director of the Tome School in Maryland, to recognize student scholarship and the pursuit of excellence in the classroom. Students chosen embody the organization's cornerstones of excellence, justice, and honor.

Faculty members nominated the seniors for induction into Cum Laude their junior or senior years. After reviewing students' transcripts and teacher comments, the LFA Cum Laude Selection Committee made final decisions in the spring. On May 20th, Kristine was honored at an induction ceremony held in Reid Hall.

Abby Croft, Assistant Dean of College Counseling, gave welcoming remarks and introduced John Strudwick, Head of School. John commends each senior on this extraordinary achievement, saying that Kristine has "stayed true to the four pillars of the Academy's mission - character, scholarship, citizenship, and responsbility." He urges the students to take the induction as a sign to continue pursuing academic scholarship in the future.
