Joan Karstrom and teammates finish Varsity Girls Basketball season

Students start practicing in early November for winter sports and continue participating in games through February and even March. This winter season, the Caxys made several team and personal achievements.

Joan was part of the varsity girls basketball team.

Coach Chris Tennyson says, “We had one of the best seasons since I’ve been at LFA. It started off a little shaky; we had different starting line-ups for the first eight games. We also didn’t have a full roster for multiple games because of illness and injury. It’s a testament to the girls’ dedication that we came away with such a great record. When one player was out, the other girls stepped up. Looking back, I’m just really proud of how committed the girls were to playing. We’ll miss the seniors and it’s been really neat to see them lead the team, but there is also a great opportunity for the returning players to step in. We’re looking forward to next year.” The team finished the season with a record of 22-1.
