Jenny Levitt competes in FIRST Robotics Competition

2015 May 8

On March 19th, nine LFA students attended the Wisconsin Regional FIRST Robotics Competition. Over the next two days, the students competed with their self-made robot. This year's challenge was the "Recycle Rush" game, which pits robots against each other to stack totes on platforms and score points.

Keith Cameron, IT Help Desk Technician and one of the directors of the Robotics club, says that while the team did not rank as well as expected, Jenny and the other students worked immensely hard on creating the robot. "It was a phenomenal year in engineering. This has been the most functional and effective robot created by LFA students thus far."

The Robotics club has been meeting for five years and was started by alumnus Alex Pankhurst '12 in 2009. It is currently run in the basement of the Reyes Family Science Center and is sponsored by The Boeing Company.
