2015 May 22

Over 100 students were involved in various performing arts groups like choir, orchestra, and VOX during the spring semester. These students showed off their musical talents in the form of vocal and instrumental performances at a series of concerts held in April and May.

At the spring "Music Through The Ages" VOX concert on April 24th, the members of VOX went on stage to sing pieces from musicals and covers of pop songs. Ellie sang "Mama Who Bore Me" from the musical Spring Awakening as a soloist. She also performed "Everything Has Changed" by Taylor Swift in a quartet. In contrast, at the Spring Chamber Concert on May 14th, musicians presented classical music performances based on works by revered composers like Johannes Brahms and Stephen Schwartz. Ellie gave a vocal performance of "Del cabello mas sutil" by Fernando Obradors.

The final concert of the year, the Pops Concert, took place on May 19th. Ellie performed with the choir as a soprano singer.Tim Plambeck, Director of Music, thanked five seniors in choir while Adam Schlipmann, Director of Instrumental Music, recognized eleven seniors in orchestra for their dedication to the arts.
