Ella Ekstrom helps lead winter musical Grease

2015 Mar 11

Over sixty students spent several months preparing for the winter musical Grease. The final performances took place on February 18th to the 21st in the Cressey Center for the Arts.

The musical was directed by Mark Dryfoos, Director of Performing Arts. Tim Plambeck, Director of Music, oversaw the musical performances and Choreographer Valerie Gonzalez helped students with the dancing. Ella played the role of Sandy Dumbrowski in the Wednesday and Friday productions.

Mark Dryfoos thanks the students for their hard work and attribute the success of the musical to Ella's determination and dedication. "Grease speaks to a universal truth for teenagers belonging to a group or finding something or someone to love. It has been a pleasure for those of us who have worked with the students for the last eight weeks. As one of the lyrics in the play states, "We go together like..." I think that we all do go together and we are proud of our show."
